Can technology replace college textbooks?

We are living in the age of advance technology. Everything is changing to automatic from manual. We are breathing in a digital age. There was a time when the only source if entertainment and knowledge was books. Now people have less time for books and more time for internet. Electronic books and digital libraries are becoming popular among the masses. Now the students prefer to consult internet rather than their college textbooks. The question that is rising with this growing trend is that, are these digital libraries or internet data going to replace college textbooks.

There may be many answers to this question. There are many people who prefer to carry their e-book reader or their laptops with them instead of books. There are many students who keep their college textbooks looked throughout the year and rely on the knowledge that is available on them. The new generation is addicted to technology. So they prefer e-books rather than their regular college textbooks. But the reality is that nothing can ever replace books. College textbooks have their own importance and significance.

Not everyone can afford to buy e-book readers and laptops whereas regular text books are economical and cheap, everyone can get them. E-book readers or laptops need to be charged in order to work whereas to study from your regular text book, all you need to do is just to pick it up from your shelf. To those under developed countries of world, where technology is not that common yet, regular text books are still bought, loved and playing their part efficiently.

To use the electronic book reader or a laptop can be a fashion, but as a matter of fact this is a complicated task. Regular text books can be read comfortably and easily. So overall, it can be said that though technology is spreading widely, even though textbooks have their own place and significance.
